Always Forward
Every top-flight club is constantly faced with challenges. What makes the difference in the long run is how well the team can re-group, learn from their mistakes, and turn the situation into something positive.
It’s true that the 2018.19 season hasn’t started the way we would have liked, but I choose to focus on the positives, to reflect on a few personal achievements, and to look forward instead of backward.
My first game of the season came against local rivals Levante. It was great to be a part of derby day, a game that I would religiously watch when growing up. I came off the bench in the 70th minute and managed to make a good impact on the game.
Then my first goal of the season – albeit during a friendly – was against Alcoyano in September. I picked up the ball in our defensive half, made a nice little 1-2 with Santi [Mina], and slotted it past the keeper.
🔥⚽🔝 ¡G-O-L-A-Z-O de @FerranTorres20!

Shortly after, I had the Spain U19 call-up. We went to Switzerland for the UEFA EURO U19 Championship Qualifiers. We won all three of our games and qualified for the Elite Round, which starts in March 2019. I scored a few goals for the team, which was great for the confidence.
The Champions League – another first! Unfortunately, the reality didn’t quite live up to the fairy tale and we could only take a point from Young Boys. We are left with a lot to do in the competition, but we still have a chance and we will fight for every last point.
The Copa del Rey has started a bit better. In our first game, my buddy Santi [Mina] put two goals past Ebro in the second half for the win. They’re coming to the Mestalla in December for the second leg.
Off the pitch, my agency, Leaderbrock, organised a photoshoot on the streets of Valencia. The photos turned out great, keep an eye out on my social media channels as I’ll be posting them over the next few weeks.
So yeah… some ups and downs, but the team are starting to a bit better, and the feeling in the dressing room is still very good. ¡Sequimos!
